Its been a while since we’ve heard ~~anything good~~ from Musiq Soulchild, and because we believe in making sure everyone Stays Gifted we wanted to pass on this new LP. Musiq’s new release “MagicintheMusiq” has a guest appearance from the industry’s resident track killer (in a bad way) Swizz Beats, but he saves the day with old school musiq with “Yes.”

The Next White Rapper

I’m not going to say that I don’t love to see people that have no business rapping doing it. Its like watching the WNBA’s All-Star Game or Speed Walking in the Olympics. I love watching the train wrecks, and this is definitely a pile up. If it wasn’t for his lack of rhythm, tone, dance moves, lyrics, or stage presence he would be NEXT. One thing though, I put the majority of the blame on his mother for the poor guidance and overall choice to make this video.

One of my favorite R&B singers out right now, Mayer Hawthorne, has released another free EP titled “Impressions.” Like the old stuff, this is some timeless music more because he is doing all covers on this joint. He even manages to put his own spin on one of my favorite songs of all time, “Work to do” by the Isley Brothers. Give this a listen and Stay Gifted!
