@shara Thanks for the read. I think that you are right on to the point that I was trying to make. Everything that you are fight against is for not when the people in power are to timid to speak on your behalf. Nothing will/can change in this country until we have leadership that will speak for everyone and not just the safe people. Sometimes the danger in having a difficult conversation keeps progress from happening, other times it is the place that the conversation takes place. Right now, it is happening in the barbershops and salons instead of the oval office and senate floor. Post racial society huh?

"This just points at the box that overt racism can put you in. It keeps you from speaking in the first place because of the fear of retaliation. But if you have the strength to speak, it can also strike you down as a racist for being against the racism that holds you." LOVE IT!!

I remember an incident at my middle school when KKK propaganda was left under a seat in my social studies class. When we brought it to the administration's attention, they simply swept it under the rug and never mentioned it again. However, when someone stuck gum under the desk, they felt the need to have an assembly about the importance of not damaging school property.

When I tell my stories to people who aren't from the South, they have a hard time understanding it. That's when I point out to them that the northern half of the country isn't much better. I don't think this country will ever rid itself of the stain of racism.

Great post. I'm about to let my inner history nerd out but the NAACP reminds me of how armies fought during WWI. They constantly use out of date tactics to fight a very modern fight. This only results in wasted talent, time, and resources being depleted trying to overcome pointless objectives.

Just my two cents!

@Mia Thanks for the read lady! It just all struck me in my reasoning for not being able to like Drake as much as before was the same reason that I will probably disregard Bron in the future. I think that this trait of going to what's convenient is making all of us lack the drive to really make this happen... I guess this is why I will never be considered "industry."

@Sally I am not knocking the move at all, well maybe a lot I am but here is my beef with it he calls himself king, he calls himself the chosen 1 (hell he tattooed this on his back) and I know the game is no longer 1 guy and 4 back ups running the league but it wasnt Jordan and two other solid number 1's claiming they no longer wanted the pressure of being a number 1 (lebitchs own words "we wont have the pressure of going out and scoring 30 a night") this is clearly a man taking the easy way out and thats my beef with the situation.. karl Malone, gary payton, didnt admit defeat until much much later in their careers and then they went ring hunting. charles barkley never admitted defeat and ended up without a ring and you know what I respect him more than I'll ever respect any championships won by this threesome because theyre in their 20's and already admitting that Kobe has beat them and they'll never be able to put together a team to over take him and Kobe has maybe 7 years left in the league if not less. This is Lebitch looking at the shadow that Kobe casts within the shadow that Jordan casts and saying Nope I want no part of it... Im mad because he didnt even try... and for you to call yourself King and not try makes you worthless in my book...
